How is Hypnotherapy different from Traditional Therapy?

A hypnotherapy session can feel a lot like a traditional therapy session but they're actually quite different in many ways:

  1. The first difference is that we're not diagnosing or treating any medical conditions. We may chat with you for a bit ahead of the hypnosis part of the session but this isn't to psychoanalyze you, this is just to get to know you and to learn a little bit about the way your subconscious mind works.

  2. The second difference is that we work at a subconscious level, so what this means is that your brain reads hypnotherapy as an experience rather than a logical analysis.  This is a little bit like learning Hands-On versus learning in a lecture format. They're both good methods of learning, they just work with your brain in a different manner, and they work really well together.

  3. The third difference is that hypnotherapy will often times draw you into the future that you desire and this is really truly wiring a new neural pathway so when the situation is you're struggling with shows up you will have already set a new way of responding at a subconscious level, and you can easily step into that more positive way of responding.
